What makes a good logo for your spiritual business?
In this blog we will explore; what is a logo and how important is your logo for your business? What should a good logo do and what to consider when designing a logo or hiring a logo designer.
So let’s look at logos, logos are something we see and recognise every single day and in many ways, we take for granted. But the reality is every product you buy in your local store, every service you buy from large companies such at utilities all have a brand and a logo. Why?
Why choosing the right logo can help you stand out?
The right logos help businesses be visible
The right logo helps you demonstrate your unique selling point.
Think about your favourite brands; the shampoo and make-up you buy, your favourite snacks, clothes and phone. We recognise apple products because of the apple logo and brand, just like Microsoft and Facebook strong brands that stand out online and on different social media platforms.
What makes our favourite snack or soft drink stands out in the store aisle it’s brand and logo, The colour, graphics, design of the logo, brand and packaging. All of these brands have chosen their logo and brand very carefully to stand out, connect with their ideal audience.
Why the right logo and brand can save you time and money in your marketing?
We all know how hard it can be to be visible, to be seen by our ideal audience and then there is building that connection. A good logo should speak to your audience on a deeper way, in many ways in an unconscious way. That is why companies spend billions on the psychology of marketing, psychological use of colour, imagery, storytelling and carefully chosen words. The right logo and branding can speak volumes.
Why The Right Brand Helps Potential Clients Remember You
My sister worked in providing companies with branded workwear and accessories for many years. Denise helped me a lot over the years with my branding. So many contractors would comment that it was so easy to remember my business name because of my branding and logo. A few mentioned how branding, my logo stood out on their billboard of contacts. Standing out online and being remembered by our audience can be costly. The right branding and logo can reduce those costs in the long run.
How The Right Logo Can Increase Your Business’s Perceived Market Value
It’s amazing how much a poor logo or branding can make a product or service look of poor quality or value. It is sad but true in a modern society that pays so much attention to aesthetics your logo can be extremely powerful.
When I started my business in 2000, my original business name was The World of Health. At that time not many small businesses were online never mind had a strong presence. But despite being a disabled woman in a one-bedroom rented flat, my marketing and SEO was so effective many people assumed I was a large organisation.
In-fact my business looked so professional it caused me a lot of issues. I attracted thousands of spam emails at times weekly assuming I was The World of Health Organisation. On more than one occasion I was contacted by my hosting server over this issue. I was inundated with phone calls from companies asking to speak to the marketing, accounts and finance, stocks and shares departments. There was me only 4 ft 9.5 inches of me struggling just to get out of bed most days. And all of these people and companies assuming I was a large business.
I eventually changed my business name and kept my website for other things. But from an alignment perspective, The World Of Health name and business was not exactly aligned with my strengths at that time of my life. I basically created a business brand that was not authentic. A business that did not represent me, my business model or my greatest unique strengths.
How To Choose A Great Logo For Your Spiritual Business
Your logo is an essential part of your brand, an integral part of your marketing. So it should connect with your brand. Getting your logo right not only makes your business look more professional it can help reduce your marketing costs. It is an important stage of your branding that should not be rushed.
Successful logos not only stand out but some can be used for years. The logo I have at the moment I have had for over 6 years it is strong enough and versatile enough to suit a few different strands to my business, spiritual marketing, holistic wellness, stress management and self-care. I just choose different colours to differentiate each strand.
In many ways the best logos are so clear and simple a child can understand what they represent. They should never be too complicated or detailed. The ideal logo is usually 2 – 3 colours no more than 4. It should attract not repel your audience.
But it should be adaptable enough that it can be placed on lots of different marketing media and merchandise. The last thing you want is having to spend a lot of time trying to find the right picture or backgrounds that your logo will work with. Especially today when we create so many different types of social media posts.
A great logo usually represents the personality of your business, the solutions you offer. If you are a healer, coach or therapist a great logo will represent an element of the solution you offer and an essence of you.
Different Types Of Logos
How To Choosing The Right Type Of Logo when there are so many to choose from.
Monogram logos also known as lettermarks can be great if your name is quite long or hard to remember. These type of logos tend to work for businesses that suit a minimalist look, an internationally known coach, high-end spa or clinic.
Logotypes also known as wordmarks are similar, here the words are the logo. But in a wordmark logo it is the typography that creates the logo.
Mascot logos are used a lot in children’s products and services e.g. yoga or meditation classes, nature walk or outdoor activities.
Logo symbols (pictorial marks) are what most of us associate with a logo, these images have a connection with the brand. My brothers use a very simple but strong image of a rhino for their Rhinowash manufacturing business. They use a combination of the company brand name with logo.
Abstract logos are usually geometric forms usually not connected to your brand or business but are uniquely designed for you. But in the holistic and spiritual industry many evolved healers use geometric images because of their deeper meaning.
Logos Are More Than A Graphic You Create On Canva
As you can see creating a logo is more than choosing a little graphic of something you like. That is why designing logos, branding and marketing is big business. That is why great logos help you stand out on social media, help you be remembered by the clients you want to reach.
The Right Logo Can Help You Shine
It is also a reason why you need to know for your ideal audience even better your soul clients. Why, you need to know what solution your offering and even better what is your USP your Unique Selling Point or Proposition. What are your unique gifts, innate aspects of you that are probably part of life and soul purpose? Your unique niche?
