When I was 17 I was studying fashion and clothing, we learned about how many top clothing lines and even designer lines would supply lower chain shops with their slightly imperfect goods (most imperfections you would never know).
A dress that sold in one clothing line for what might be equivalent to £300 – £1000 without the label would be sold somewhere else, another country or next year for between £30 -£100.
Both cost almost the exact price to make, except one had a designer label and there was just a bit more money put into the packaging, branding and marketing of it.
That is why everyday people are willing to spend ten times the price on one product over the other, though in some cases it is almost the exact same product or service.
