Using Shadow Work Questions To Transform Your Business Growth. Exploring shadow work and how the right type of shadow work questioning can help with profound business growth.
Understanding Shadow Work
“Shadow work is the therapeutic practice of bringing the unconscious into the conscious as proposed by Carl Jung. Shining light on repressed or “dark” aspects we cannot see or want to hide e.g. fear, anger, shame or trauma. Shadow work helps increase self-awareness, reduce self sabotaging patterns, improve confidence, communication and relationships.” Beneath The Brand.

Common Shadow Traits In Spiritual Entrepreneurs
We all have shadow traits that stop us fully honouring our gifts, that keep us small. Shadow wounding that creates all sorts of problems in our life, business and marketing. The problem is we are often so close to the situation, those patterns, blocks and beliefs are so deep unconscious we can’t really see them.
There are a lot of common shadow traits I see in a lot of spiritual businesses, especially in healers, coaches and therapists for example;
Lack of Boundaries and Over-giving;
Poor boundaries is very strong in many healers, therapists with strong caregiver archetype and wounded healer archetypal traits, as well as hero archetypes who have strong rescuer and self-sacrifice wounding. Which shows up as all sorts of poor boundaries in business, trying to offer too much or trying to be everything to anyone. Which often burnout, compassion fatigue and all sorts of financial challenges in a business.
Fear Of Being Seen Or Feeling Invisible
Fear of being visible and actually feeling unseen are common in the healing, coaching, creative and therapy space. Although the fear of being seen is often in those with the healer or witch wound. These shadow traits can also show up for various reasons in the Alchemist Archetype, Orphan Archetype, the Creator Archetype, Victim and Wounded Child Archetype.
The Power Hungry Guru Or Teacher
The inflated ego or narcissist who acts as the ultimate authority, who feeds off others fears, vulnerabilities or lack of insight. This often shows up in the shadow Leader Archetype (King Or Queen Archetype) , Alchemist Archetype and also the Sage Archetype.
Victimhood Entitlement
Victim entitlement where one believes they deserve special or free treatment due to lack self-responsibility. And will use all forms of manipulation to get what they want or need to grow, expand or build their business such as freeloading or financial exploitation of others.
Narcissistic Entitlement
Where one feels entitled to success, wealth or celebrity status at other people’s expense without doing the work or paying the price. This can show up a lot in the shadow of the Celebrity Leader, Queen Leader, Lover Archetype and even Victim Archetype. And in the extent of what The Dark Magician Archetype will go to get what they want.
